2012 IIHS Top Safety Pick

Institute president Adrian Lund says, "It's tough to win, and we commend auto manufacturers for making safety a top priority." The article continues, "Subaru remains the only manufacturer
with the distinction of earning awards for every model it builds. Subaru picks up 
5 awards, including one for the redesigned Impreza, a small car."

Here's A Recap Of The Tests. . .


Test 1: Frontal offset crash test & Rear crash test
This test assesses the vehicles structural designs. Focuses on the degree of protection that seat & head restraints provide against whiplash injury. Bummper evaluations are also conducted with these test.
Test 2: Side crash test
Assesses how occupants are effected when larger vehicles like SUV's & Pickup strike the vehicle from the side.

Test 3: Rollover rating
Determines the strength of a vehicles roof.

Test 4: Electronic stability control
Does the vehicle have it? ESC helps drivers maintain control of the vehicle when making emergency type maneuvers.
