Getting the Most Out of Your Tires

Proper tire inflation is important for safety, fuel mileage and handling characteristics. The proper pressures can be obtained from your owner’s manual and from the placard located on the driver’s door pillar. Remember these specifications are for a cold tire (sitting over six hours). Adjustments of two to three pounds above specifications should be made for a warm/heated tire. Checking tire pressure in between service intervals is recommended to maintain proper tire wear and is also a good opportunity to make a quick inspection of the tires general condition.

TIRE ROTATION

Rotate your tires regularly. Subaru recommends rotations every 6,000 to 7,500 miles. Driving conditions/techniques, road surfaces, vehicle loading just to name a few may warrant more frequent rotations. It can also be very beneficial to perform a balance at every other rotation to ensure proper tire wear and ride quality.
