I had a fantastic leasing experience with Doug Holden & the Subaru of S. Charlotte team. My family and I scheduled an appointment to test drive an Ascent along with a few other SUVs from other manufacturers over the course of a Saturday. Earlier this summer, I was visiting the Charlotte area and decided to stop by Subaru South Boulevard. I had done all of my research and was confident I wanted my next vehicle to be the Ascent, but I had not been able to test drive one yet since there are no dealerships close to where I live. I spoke with Rick Haynes and told him upfront that I was interested in looking at the Ascent, but I would not be able to buy from this dealership since I had to fly home. I was upfront with him about my intentions and, even knowing he wouldn't be able to sell me the car, he still took just as much time to show me all of the features and let me take it for a drive. I bought a brand new Brz from this dealership in 2018. Overall cars works great, I just had couple minor problems. Both times I worked with Brittany and she was great. First, my coolant level was low, I brought car for a service, they did an excellent job taking care of the problem. They refilled it and ran pressure test to make sure there is no underlying problem with the car. Second time I had a problem with car not shifting well in cold weather. They kept car for several days and gave me a loaner. Even though they could not repro the issue, they did a good job communicating through the process. Once I got car back, I could not repro this problem anymore. I guess I will have to wait for cold weather to see if I will have this problem again. BTW, did I mention 15 minutes state inspection turnaround? You can not beat that :)

Ryan was very polite, and explained what service was recommended for the 30,000 mile maintenance. When he said an engine filter I asked if they could see if it was needed before just doing it. He said yes, it was not needed so they didn't do it. My one complaint is I was there for 2.5 hours for an oil change, tire rotation and free car wash. Ryan did tell me upfront that they were about 30 minutes behind. It makes me wonder what good an appointment is though. By the way the car wash was excellent, they got the front bumper very clean.

I purchased a pre-owned 2018 Forester — my first car in 15 years. It's also my first Subaru and I LOVE how the car drives and how safe it makes me feel. Steven and Melissa at Subaru South Blvd get how I feel, too. Their attention and service during my first maintenance checkup were impeccable. The same goes for the team who just replaced my front bumper after running over a large boulder on the backside of Grandfather Mtn. The rock came barreling off a steep cliff and lifted both passenger-side tires up about 50 degrees. The car almost tipped over, but didn't. It took two people to lift that rock out of the middle of the road — it's now planted by my garage, serving as a reminder why I drive a Subaru.
